September marks my favorite season: FALL. Although the autumnal equinox won’t occur until later in the month heralding fall and cooler temperatures, I can still feel the slight chill in the air each morning and evening. The air even has a certain scent; maybe it is psychological, but I can smell the musty scent of leaves, fireplaces burning, and pumpkin spice.

I am a second-generation State Farm agent, experienced in forging long-term relationships with the people of my community. I have been immersed in insurance for practically my entire life since both my parents were in the business since 1971, and I am continuing that legacy. I began my career with State Farm in 2015, and opened my agency in 2016. We love serving and helping the people of our community, including Alamogordo, Holloman AFB, Otero County, New Mexico and surrounding states of Texas, Colorado and Arizona. Our team is licensed to assist customers' insurance needs in New Mexico, Texas, Colorado and Arizona including the surrounding areas of Otero County: Alamogordo, High Rolls, Boles Acres, HAFB, Cloudcroft, Ruidoso, Mayhill, Carrizozo, La Luz, Tularosa, and the surrounding areas.
I understand the importance of family, as my mother, Lou Ellen Wilson, continues working with our team at the office. When it comes to the ins and outs of insurance, she’s one of the most knowledgeable people I know having worked in the insurance industry for 53 years. I’m so proud to have her on our team. Myrna Killebrew is also on our team and has been serving customers for 5 years. Jodie Worley, who is a lifelong resident of Otero County has been with us almost a year. Valerie Amberson started with our team at the beginning of the year, and is married to a military service member, so she has lived all over the world, but she has also worked for two other State Farm agents previously. We love serving all kinds of people and working with them to meet their needs, helping people find answers to their problems and get the right products for them. Our office is nice and homey with a family feel. It's filled with antiques and is always a warm and friendly environment. People consider us family, and we try to make each customer feel like they are part of ours.
My team and I are very involved in the Alamogordo community and surrounding areas . We love being part of this amazing area, and believe wholeheartedly in supporting it however we can! I'm involved with my church, and I’m on the board of the Alamogordo Center of Commerce as well as being a member of the Alamogordo Rotary Club and MainGate United. I am also an Honorary Commander to the 49th Contracting Squadron (CONS) at Holloman Air Force Base. Outside the office, besides serving in these civic clubs and boards, I participate in a book club, my church, walking in 5Ks throughout the year, and enjoy spending time with my husband, my two kids and fur baby, our dachshund, Mollie.
